Beamed Presents the dance films and short live works of four dance collectives:
Beamed Concept
Beamed is an open air dance film festival.
It is free.
This is your invitation.
Through short films and live performances, Beamed interrogates the self-evidency of the “normal” to which we all so easily seek to return.
Beamed showcases various dance collectives whose working practice during Covid careened toward digital media. Flowing into the only spaces available, we worked, made and presented digital media.
And audiences joined us
And yet, we heard of unfulfilled desires of attending together, communal experience, being present as audience, discussion between and after, beer, unexpected reunions and connections, life.
Beamed is our wish to attend to those needs, with digital media, outdoors.
In four cities: Mannheim, Bonn, Köln and Dortmund, Beamed invites you to bring a blanket, a picnic basket, and share in an evening of social critical dance film and short live performances.
Beamed is convinced that we can do better than “normal” and wishes to engage with the empowering act of coming together.
Each city will offer a different instantiation of Beamed, “gestaltet” by the participating artists hosting Beamed in their respective cities.
